OpenSuSE 11.2 – keyboard does not work in X.org

OpenSuSE 11.2 is out.As usual, not everything works. This time? In for a real charm: keyboard and mouse does not work in Xorg. Even when removing the config and running SaX2 it does not work. After som help from

Intel x3100/GMA 965 and OpenSuSE 11.1

OpenSuSE 11.1 works quite alright on Intel hardware, with one major quirk: 3D rendering is utterly broken. Or rather – it was when it shipped.
If you suspect you’ve got this problem, run glxgears from a terminal, and watch the output:

VMWare Workstation on openSuSE 11.1

Vmware workstation, fresh out of the box, did not want to run on openSuSE, claiming it could not find any modules:
$ vmware

OpenSuSE si nettside ser ut til å ha mindre problem i det teljaren står på T-01. Det finst håp – for ein har dei norske mirrors, slik som ftp.uio.no, som har ISO og repos for SuSE 11.0. Rett nok var ISO ikkje offentleg før 15:00 norsk tid i dag, slik avtalen nok var med OpenSuSE-folka.

Apt on OpenSuSE 10.3

OpenSuSE has yast2 and zypper, so why apt you might ask? Because apt-get is simply superior to zypper and yast2, and apt is far far quicker than zypper on resolving depencies. And apt-cache search is nicer than zypper’s search feature. So for me, apt is a nice tool…

OpenSuSE 10.2 on ThinkPad R61.

OpenSuSE is a quite nice distro. Lenovo ThinkPad R61 is quite a nice laptop. Good combination?
I’d say yes without a moment of hesitation. Installing it was a breeze. Pop in CD, boot, and install from network. Due to a decent internet connection at school, this is somewhat faster than installing from DVD.
